The demand for increased physicality in golf is becoming increasingly more evident

 

Golfers are repeatedly exposing their bodies to high amounts of force every time they swing the club. Golfers that lack strength, mobility and importantly technique are highly likely to experience injury and have lower driving distance1. Being stronger has a correlation to club head speed, and club head speed has a correlation with better players. But the point of strength training is not just to hit the ball further. At its most basic level, a strengthening program is a long-term robustness strategy, reducing injury risk and keeping you playing for longer.

Exercise Physiologist, Sam Catherall recently completed certification with the Titleist Performance Institute, which allows him to identify key areas of interest regarding hip & spine mobility, strength, and function. Sam’s priorities for Golf Fit participants are injury risk reduction, increased longevity, improvements in joint ranges and strength/power production. Individuals can target these areas through 8x weekly group-based classes held at Higher Function.

The Golf Fit Package includes 3x 45min 1:1 lessons with PGA Teaching Professional, Sam Pasquali. Sam believes your swing sequence can be associated with how well your body moves and aims to combine swing analysis and appropriate practice to your strengthening program to help you shoot lower scores. Sam Pasquali can help golfers work on all aspects of their game, from on the green to full swing.
